Delivered in a live virtual classroom using Zoom with a real tutor, this five-day intensive boot-camp course is designed to give you the best possible chance of passing the ASIS APP® exam.
ASIS APP® is a Board certification, which is recognised across the world. Whether you’ve recently obtained your degree or made the switch from an entirely different sector, the APP® certification is your first step in advancing your security career. This designation, which you can earn with only a year of applicable experience, shows hiring managers that you have an assured grasp of the fundamental security skills you need to level up your career. It can help you gain global recognition from your peers and the industry, gain a competitive edge in the marketplace, and enhance your career and earnings potential.
The APP® exam consists of 125 multiple-choice questions covering tasks, knowledge and skills across four broad domains. Supported by your study resources which you need to purchase before the course begins, and your tutor, this bootcamp aids your preparation with complete mock exams, assessing your understanding of the materials and highlighting areas for further study.
For this virtual classroom course, you will need a stable internet connection, and a microphone, speakers and webcam. This helps you to interact with the class in the same way you would in a face-to-face training setting. Please be aware of the time zone differences; our classes run in the GMT/BST time zone depending on time of year. Afternoon sessions can be taken at your own pace, to complete the mock exams taken on our online learning platform.
We recommend you disable your email application when joining live classroom training. This will minimise distractions and interruptions, helping you to focus on the course. Please get in touch with our team if you have any questions. This course is also delivered online in a self-paced course, or in person during the classroom boot-camp course.
Note: the ASIS exams are experience-based therefore, you will need to apply your own experience to answer the questions correctly. Please don’t attempt to memorise the reference sets.

The Associate Protection Professional certification is designed for entry-level security professionals with one or more years of related, compensated experience. It will benefit those who are perhaps new to the sector or job role and are looking to take the first steps to validate their security expertise, giving them global recognition and enhancing career potential.

WHO WILL BENEFIT
About the Exam
To gain the post-nominals ‘APP’, you must sit and pass the exam, which is taken at a Prometric test centre.
The APP® exam consists of 100 scored and 25 unscored multiple-choice questions. The exam covers tasks, knowledge and skills across the four key domains in this course.
The exam fee is not included in this training package.
You are responsible for booking your exam and sourcing copies of the ASIS learning materials.
Eligibility Criteria
The Associate Protection Professional certification is designed for entry-level security professionals with one or more years of related, compensated experience.
Additional requirements include:
- Full-time employment in a security-related role
- Have not been convicted of any criminal offense that would reflect negatively on the security profession, ASIS, or the certification program
- Willingness to sign and agree to abide by the ASIS Certification Code of Conduct
- Willingness to agree to abide by the policies of the ASIS Certification programs as outlined in the Certification Handbook

You will need these texts as far in advance of the course as possible to familiarise yourself and refer to them when attempting the supplementary online material prior to the course. As part of this course, you will be given access to the APP® supplementary online material. This will assist you in familiarising yourself with the reference materials and terminology covered in the exam, plus give you opportunities to undertake test exercises prior to the course.
Study Format
Pre-course: Upon registering your place, you will have access to the online learning platform, which hosts the study materials.
There are five modules, each relating to core content from the ASIS APP reference materials.
Days one and two: explanation of the timetable of study and approach required from learners, followed by familiarisation with the learning domains and study materials.
Days three and four: explanation and discussion of the different domains, followed by consolidation and testing of learners’ knowledge to identify where further personal revision should be focused.
Day five: completion of mock exams followed by feedback and discussion.
