PerpetuityARC Training Collaborates with Lafargeholcim, Cairo

In July, PerpetuityARC Training facilitated a two-day risk and crisis management workshop for Lafarge Egypt (part of the LafargeHolcim Group) in Cairo.

The programme ensured attendees understood the roles and responsibilities of the Crisis Management Team and supporting personnel, how to manage resources during a crisis and operate within the organisation’s crisis management and compliance framework.

Led by our Group Director, Angus Darroch-Warren, senior managers from across the organisation were put through their paces, managing complex, evolving crisis scenarios that required close collaboration between team members to ensure a successful resolution.

Magdy Khorshid, Lafarge’s Security Director, stated the course was extremely beneficial: ‘the course was amazing, very practical and interesting to all and I received much positive feedback from all learners.’ One learner in particular praised Angus’s ‘perfect and professional’ delivery and management of the workshop.

Using Angus’s in-depth operational knowledge and by working closely with Lafarge Egypt stakeholders, we designed the course to meet identified learning outcomes and ensure practical elements of the course were tailored to Lafarge’s operating environment.

Basing the scenarios on realistic and credible issues was key to ensuring the delegates ‘bought in’ to the training and were able to apply their learning appropriately.

Angus enjoyed working with the group, stating, ‘The Lafarge teams engaged fully with the workshop scenarios. It was great to see them solving problems in a pressured, but safe environment, that allowed them to think through issues and respond using identified resources and procedures. Well done to all!’

Our workshop was the latest collaboration between Lafarge Egypt and PerpetuityARC Training, which has seen a number of courses and programmes delivered over the past 5 years in Cairo, as well as senior Lafarge managers attending our security and risk courses in the United Kingdom.

A huge ‘thank you’ to all learners, and to our Director, Angus, for a successful delivery.
